What is this estimate based on?
The calculator uses our public rate bands and realistic assumptions about travel time, urgency and scarcity. What we do:
- Sector band: notaries and courts sit in the premium band (+15% on the base band). Municipalities, social services and other work sit in the base band.
- Language modifier: scarce languages (Tigrinya, Dari, Mandarin) carry a +12% premium because the interpreter pool is small.
- Travel allowance: € 1.00 per kilometre driven, there and back, travel time included.
- Urgency surcharge: +25% on the hourly rate (not on travel or VAT). Applies to sessions within 2 hours of the request.
- Minimum session length: 1 hour for on-site and video. Phone has no minimum — it is billed per minute.
- Volume discount: indicative only. The actual contract is negotiated per office, based on language mix, sectors and whether you want a fixed pool.
- VAT: 21% as standard. Deductible as business expenses for clients with a VAT number. No VAT for a few exempt institutions (healthcare, education).
